Grateful to have the fitness to be able to do runs like this 🙏🏻
1700ft elevation over 8 miles. The very best of everything… countryside, hills, woodland, forestry, coast, rolling cliffs. Just amazing 🤩 
It’s been a lovely couple of days in Dorset. Too short but lovely before Alyson goes into chemo round 3 next week💪🏻
Also grateful to @teamrunderwear for their continued support 💙 On this run I wore the merino trail socks, mens short boxers, short sleeve base layer and (my favourite) the ultra light shorts 💙

Massive congrats to @shaunrafferty1 who has just taken more than 5 minutes off his half marathon PB 💪🏻
A new PB of 1:47:38
Shaun is so consistent with his training and has hardly missed a single session in the 5 months I’ve been coaching him and his results are testimony to his dedication to the process ✅
What’s more impressive about this performance is that we have done this race as a training run and with NO TAPER! Shaun’s main focus is the Edinburgh marathon so we used this as a test bed before going into his specificity weeks
I can’t wait to see his marathon performance 🙌

    CLIENT PROGRESS UPDATE It’s been another great CLIENT PROGRESS UPDATE
It’s been another great week for my clients with an average of 2.1 lbs off this week!
Today’s highlight is @stannard2959 who has dropped 10lbs in 4 weeks and the results are starting to show quite nicely as well as him feeling good
Nath wanted to lose some weight before he gets into big mileage weeks for his London marathon
But he is also a truly dedicated father and wants to be in better health for his children 💙
How did we do this?
- ensure he is getting in his steps
- ensure his hydration is on point
- a tailored exercise plan specific for Nathan
- calculated his calorie and macro requirements and set him a plan with foods he enjoys and is convenient for his job and family life too

He does NOT need to calorie count with my programming because all recipes are to his exact requirements
Therefore, all he needs to do is make them and eat them! 
Simple!
You’ll see some of his meals include treat type foods too, like mini eggs, which means he doesn’t have to deprive himself of a little treat from time to time

"I don't have time to train and eat well" 
I call bullshit on that one!!! More often than not, minutes after saying this, most people will hold their phone up and start scrolling their news feed.
This is the most common excuse I hear from people. 
I get it, our lives are busy AF what with all the jobs and kids and responsibilities and such. But, the fact you are even reading this right now means you are on social media! 
Take a look at that screen time report on your phone!
The truth is that if you take your TOTAL MONTHLY scrolling time, you would have at the very least time for 5 solid workouts.
So, you see, it's not that you don't have time, the problem is you don't know how to manage it.
Work on that!

    CLIENT SUCCESSES Well… what a weekend and the M CLIENT SUCCESSES
Well… what a weekend and the Maximum Mileage PB factory turns out yet more personal bests 💪🏻
@izi.irwin took on the Bodmin Beast trail marathon, a hilly one which she came home comfortably 15 minutes ahead of her marathon PB. We’ve not be working together long but already we are seeing improvements for Izi by dialling in on her fuelling and hydration. Smashed it 💥👏🏻
Next up is Siobhann who is at the start of her journey with me on both run coaching and she is on my nutrition plan. She took on an 8km race with crazy elevation and came home with smiles all around 💪🏻😁 A solid first race for us
Debbie is next and is in full swing with her local races having raced TWICE this week! First was a spritely 5 miler earlier this week and today a more challenging trail 10km. Great runs from Debbie and she is enjoying her racing 👏🏻
A cheeky shoutout for @natashas_wellness_club … Tash is now officially not being coached by me after smashing her target race of Brighton, but I had to celebrate this one with her as she ran an all-time 10km PB at the Corsham 10km today. Incredible stuff just two weeks after Brighton 🙌
Finally, it was yours truly as I had a go at parkrun! I haven’t been particularly consistent, nor have I done any meaningful speed work since my wife’s cancer diagnosis, so to run an 18:21 was quite the surprise. More than anything, it was just super to be amongst other runners again 💙
    THE TRUTH ABOUT BODY FAT I don’t often like the THE TRUTH ABOUT BODY FAT
I don’t often like these infographics, but this one is actually a really good one
It is HARD AS FUCK to get down to a low body fat percentage and these pro bodybuilders etc you might see on t’internet are usually particular moments in time (near a competition for example)
So when you think you want to get mega shredded, think again, because it really fucking sucks and it’s hard as shit
Cue bad moods, fatigue, weariness, dizziness and so on… 
Be realistic in your body goals and take it a step at a time
For example, instead of wanting to see the whole six pack, go with a goal of lose 10lbs and once you achieve that, pick a new target and so on

Big milestone today (of many already) as my incredible wife @alyhancock makes it public knowledge that she has recently been diagnosed with Breast Cancer 
It’s been a very tough few weeks with ups and downs like we have never experienced and the rollercoaster continues! Our world as a family literally has been turned upside down 🙃
Now through 2 rounds of chemo (which she has breezed through like a total champ) and 3 out 4 other areas of concern having been given the all clear, we are taking this thing head on with positivity 💪🏻
This is the biggest challenge of our lives but together we will beat this. Alyson has shown incredible resilience and we are all behind her whilst she shows this thing who is the boss 💥

So, after the searing heat of Brighton 2021 and the sheer disappointment of being one of the many people needing medical attention on the day, @natashas_wellness_club had serious unfinished business with the Brighton marathon race 😡
Undeterred by her previous experience, Tash was more galvanised than ever and signed up for coaching with me to go back and kick its ass!! 
And boy did she do that!!!
What a result… Tash always wanted sub-4 hours but her training had gone so well, to the point that her new marathon pace had basically just become her easy pace!!
The plan was to start easy and build into the race, not get carried away by the occasion and finish strong 💪🏻 
Tash has done that today and all her hard work and dedication has paid off
Tash is one of life’s truly lovely human beings and she fully deserved her outstanding performance today
A huge congratulations on a special run today 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

This is a very special one… all PBs are special but this one hits a particular “Milestone” (such an apt word because Marcus’s recruitment firm that he owns is called Milestone Recruitment!)
Congratulations to @speedyweedyruns on a 5km PB this morning! He ran super hard and turned in a time of 18:19, which we think is also an age group record for his running club (TBC)
Quite amazing considering Marcus has a debilitating back condition that can flare up any moment
….
Marcus is a very very experienced runner and, he won’t mind me saying this, he is almost 50 years old…
I can’t tell you how hard it is to get a runner as experienced as Marcus a PB like this. So I am going to really toot my coaching horn a bit here!!
Maximum Mileage is now very much a confirmed and legitimate “PB factory” as this marks the aforementioned milestone and is the 100th PB of all my athletes in the last 12 months 🤩
100 personal bests!! So pleased for everyone I coach and I am so passionate about working with them 💙

    WORLD HEALTH DAY 2022 The subject for this year's WORLD HEALTH DAY 2022
The subject for this year's World Health Day is a Healthier Planet. 
As an ex-smoker, I wanted to raise awareness for something that really resonated with me
Tobacco kills more than 8 million people every year & is highly addictive.... as a former 40-a-day smoker, believe me, I know. 
As well as it posing a major risk factor for various heart and lung diseases, around 600 Million trees are chopped down to make 6 trillion (that figure blew my fucking mind!) cigarettes every year, decreasing the clean air we breathe.
If you are smoker, seek out ways to kick the habit, it's not too late for you, the planet or our kids
No tobacco.

    12 week transformation 💪🏻 Month 3 check in 12 week transformation 💪🏻
Month 3 check in with myself today. Really happy with the results 😁
This is with an ultra marathon in the middle of it too which isn’t the most conducive thing for muscle building 👌🏻
I was a little too focussed on being lightweight for my running and thought I was starting to look a bit stringy
So I changed my tact with the goal to build muscle
The result:
✅ 12 weeks
✅ gained 16 lbs
✅ feel stronger
✅ look better
✅ better father 
✅ improved mindset
✅ still running fast 💨 
How?
➡️ programmed myself a hypertrophic (muscle building) programme in my app
➡️ created my menu in my coaching app with a focus on slight calorie surplus and macros of Protein 30% carbs 50% and fats 20%
➡️ 3 litres water a day
➡️ kept up my implementation of good habits to ensure I have time to workout etc (none of which are more than 45 mins long, 4 times a week)
➡️ still running but ensuring 10k steps a day
4 more weeks of muscle building, then it’s time to start my shift to a 12 week challenge to lose the excess fat for summer. I’ll be opening this up for sign ups soon so keep an eye out to join me on this challenge 😎
Not bad for almost 40 years old 😜

I can, with all my heart, say it has been such a pleasure coaching @_bball__ 
Becky has been on an incredible journey having completed couch to 5km 18 months ago
She joined me 6 months ago having only run a half marathon, so all her long runs were new territory for her every week! 
She’s improved so much over the past 6 months, turned up to every session, battled through a bout of covid and even won a brass band competition in the process!! (I had absolutely nothing to do with her brass band performance, just FYI 😂)
Her original goal was to “just finish in 6 hours would be good” (her words)…. She did it in a fantastic 5:35

I did this for myself when 'they' sang to me that I "ate all the pies"
I did this when I was suffering with suicidal thoughts and 'they' called me a "moody fucker"
I did this when they said I stank from all the fags I smoked
I did this when they told me I was too old to get in shape

This one was a cheeky one from Sue! 
Sue loves a parkrun but this weekend she wasn’t planned in to do one due to time constraints… however she managed to jiggle her diary about and got over to the lovely Southwick parkrun and smashed her PB by over 30 secs
Whoosh 🤯🔥
And yes… I have told her off for then going and doing her intervals session afterwards 🤦🏼😂🤩
Sue is only in her 2nd month with me and already hammering her PBs whilst putting in some big miles for her upcoming 100km 💪🏻

The successes are rolling in already this weekend for my running coaching crew 
@speedyweedyruns has just run his first sub 40 minute 10km in a race setting ⭐️
Hardly a close shave either as he walloped it with an amazing time of 39:15 🤯
He even had a bit of a cold very recently and it wasn’t a fast course either, so that makes it even more an achievement 
Marcus consistently shows up, puts the work in and he is still getting faster all the time
That all-time 10km PB of his is toast in a few weeks time 🔥
